Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings and Rep. Donna Edwards, who had voted against the House version of the Wall Street bailout (or rescue, if you prefer), voted for the revised bailout bill produced by the Senate.
I’m thinking Rep. Cummings and Rep. Edwards had it right the first time. But with the whole world apparently succumbing to economic panic, who knows? Maybe the brain trust from Goldman Sachs knows. I hope so.
The only Maryland congressman voting “No” on the Senate bill was Rep. Roscoe Bartlett. Rep. Bartlett, please call the Treasury Department. They may need your help. — Bernie Hayden
